The Web3 offline Seminar
The Web3 offline seminar, "How AI Manifests in the World of Web3", initiated by Central Research, and supported by Genius Club and Web3Hub was held today (March 10) at the Hong Kong Cyberport. Web3 Builders from different projects gathered together to share and discuss industry trends. They exchanged ideas and freely talked about everything in this amazing industry.

Genius Club is a multifunctional Web3 community built for top students from globally renowned universities. It creates a Web3 DID identity system for students from these universities and provides professional services such as Web3 knowledge learning, token and NFT airdrops, task posting and claiming, skills competitions, job resources, and other services. Genius Club serves as a bridge and platform for top university students to communicate with the world's leading Web3 companies.
For this Web3 offline seminar, we invited the following guests:
- Vishwas Thakkar, the CEO of Link Al;
- Lesia Marchenko, the founding member of LENA;
- Dr. Wong Wai Kit, Lecturer;
- Dr. Steven Wong, founder of MarkerDAO;
- Yannan SUN, a Ph.D. student in Fintech from the University of Hong Kong;

LinkAI CEO Vishwas introduces LinkAI. Its aim is to build the next generation of oracles that empower Web3.0 applications through intelligent data crawlers and real-time data analysis. LinkAI uses advanced machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing technologies to collect, store, and analyze data through a global node network, and links the data analysis results to the blockchain through oracles, injecting unlimited possibilities into the Web 3 application scenarios.
When talking about the pain points that can be solved with the combination of Web3.0 and AI, Vishwas said that the most important thing should be protecting privacy. There is a lack of privacy and personalization on public social media, where anyone can actually steal any other person's data. Giant companies have all your account information. and when they are attacked, users may lose all their data without receiving any compensation. This is where artificial intelligence and decentralization come into play: you can get true data storage, and even if it is hacked or similar problems occur, you will not lose all your data at once. Due to decentralization, AI can perfectly prevent the threat of hackers.

The founding member of LENA, Lesia Marchenko said that AI is an extra layer on top of the blockchain. If blockchain makes sure that users can own their data and be compensated, then AI provides an opportunity to make this data work for you. Linking to the project, Lena, the main goal of LENA is to unlock the true potential of Web3 as they develop innovative solutions to redefine utility and liquidity.
She said that when you combine NFT and AI, it creates intelligent entities. Imagine an entity that the NFT you own can generate stories or do research for you, or can become your assistant, and so on. That is how AI and blockchain work together. Blockchain is a layer that provides transparency, privacy, and ownership, and AI is a layer that makes it intelligent. The combination is truly something that we have only seen in futuristic technologies.

The founder of MarkerDAO, Dr. Steven Wong introduced MarkerDAO as a decentralized labor crowdsourcing marketplace focused on AI dataset annotation. Training AI models typically requires large amounts of manually labeled datasets. In the web3 era, MarkerDAO has leveraged blockchain technology to create a trustless, permissionless cross-border labor market and significantly reduced AI dataset annotation costs through cryptocurrency-enabled cross-border payments.

During that communication, they discussed the role AI could play in our daily life and also discussed the intersection of AI and Web3, focusing on the infrastructure and application sides. Meanwhile, they emphasized the importance of infrastructure in AI development and mentioned the potential of decentralized infrastructure for AI applications.
Dr. Wong Wai Kit gave some existing projects in Web3 that use AI, such as storage solutions and chatbots, and Dr. Steven Wong believes that the future trend of AI and Web3 will be in the decentralized infrastructure and sees potential for AI to simplify data cleaning and processing. They also discuss the importance of labeling for AI learning and the potential for AI to learn from large datasets without human supervision.
Everyone had a very happy discussion and was not willing to stop. In such an environment, freely communicating with professionals in the same field resulted in many gains. At the end of the event, they all expressed a high degree of recognition and love for this roundtable meeting.
The Big Demo Day II will be held on April 16, and the registration of project parties has been opened. Welcome to contact us: meeting@centralresearch.io
